We all know listening to music is good for the soul. But did you know it’s good for the body too?

Researchers have found that blood flows more easily when you’re jamming to your favorite tunes. This means belting out Beyoncé or bopping along with Jay-Z is a doctor-approved, heart-healthy activity. It can also reduce stress, boost your mood, and ease pain.

    Can a podcast do that

So, in the name of health (and fun!) we’ve put together this music discovery playlist for you.

Here are some awesome artists from a variety of genres you should be listening to. Keep reading to learn a little bit about some of our favorites. You’ll find a link to the Spotify playlist at the bottom. So grab your favorite SpiritHood and get ready to groove!

A little bit funk, a little bit soul, and a whole lot of swanky vibes. LION BABE is an NYC based duo that describes their music as “Future Nostalgic.” Their R&B tracks are perfect for cruising around with the windows down or starting a kitchen dance party. You’ll be adding their catchy covers of songs like “Hot In Herre” to all your party playlists.

    Linqua Franqa / Lingua Franca

If you get down to 90s hip-hop you’ll love her soulful, empowering tracks. “Gold Bike” is a music discovery gem. Sure, she’s busy changing the world, but we’re hoping she’ll find time to release some new music too.
