This year Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas is just around the corner with an expected 500,000 festival attendees expected over the three day celebration from May 17-19, 2024. The festival that takes place on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is considered one of the biggest and most anticipated festivals of the year. EDC is held annually in Mexico, China, Orlando, and the main event in Las Vegas, which is the biggest celebration.
This year’s theme is “#kineticCIRCLE” which a statement from festival organizers says will “celebrate the profound impact circles have on our lives – circles of time, circles of trust, and circles of community.”
Electric Carnival Daisy is one of festival go-ers favorite festivals. And there’s a reason for that. As noted on their website, EDC is built on beliefs and decisions that inspire day after day, which are;
1) FUELED BY POSITIVITY “We create unforgettable experiences driven by imagination and positivity, where music and art can inspire transformative moments around every corner.”
2) LOVE, CARE & CONNECTION ABOVE ALL “Everything we do comes from a place of love, striving to create safe spaces where people can connect on and off the dance floor.”
3) BUILT ON INCLUSIVITY “Our community stands for unity, celebrating and welcoming everyone. No matter your shape, size or color—All Are Welcome Here.”
4) CREATIVITY IN EVERYTHING WE DO “From the stages to the art, we ignite the senses with relentless creativity. We see no boundaries in what we can create, and neither should you.”
5) TAKING RISKS & BREAKING RULES “We don’t chase trends, we create culture. We push the envelope to make things you’ve never experienced before.”
And this year, there will be a bunch of changes to the venue layout. The bionicJUNGLE, quantumVALLEY, neonGARDEN, wasteLAND, and bassPOD stages are all getting relocated. This means that there will be even larger dance floors! And as an added bonus, the speedway’s asphalt has been freshly paved, so the festival footprint will be all new! So if you’ve attended EDC in the past, don’t expect anything to be in the same place this year.
EDC Las Vegas features carnival rides, art, circus-style performances, and the top EDM DJs and every big name dance act in the world, including Steve Aoki, Diplo, Alesso, FISHER, deadmau5, Valentino Khan, Paul van Dyk, Gryffin, Zedd, John Summit, Alison Wonderland, Martin Garrix, Seven Lions, Tiêsto, David Guetta, DJ Snake, and many more.
And making their festival debuts this year are Four Tet, Peggy Gou and hard techno star Sara Landry.

EDC started in Los Angeles in the 90’s and in 2011 it made the move to Las Vegas, where it is now home to one of the largest raves in the world. Each year, EDC features dozens of artists, art cars, pop-up experiences and a handful of stages.
Besides having the biggest names in electronic music (including house, techno, drum and bass, and dubstep) EDC has endless activities to partake in. Everything from Arts & crafts, dance classes, hula hoop classes, field games, karaoke, poetry, rave aerobics, scavenger hunts, pool parties, Acro, vinyasa, and goat yoga and even A FERRIS WHEEL!
Hold on. The list continues.
After-parties, interactive art installations, kick-off party with special guest DJs, and Vendor Village.
Oh and if all gets too much and you need some quiet “me time,” EDC has; Neighborhood chill zones, massage therapy, hammock lounges, silent shavasana, guided meditations, and salon and spa services, including a barbershop.
And if you forgot something at home, no worries! They have free water refill stations, full service bars, food vendors for LITERALLY EVERY taste bud in the world, and a General Store.
And the eco-friendly filtered Oasis pool will host DJ sets throughout the day.
Oh! AND if you wanna get married at Electric Daisy Carnival, you can! Insomniac offers complete wedding packages for legal unions as well as non-legal commitment ceremonies and vow renewals. Just remember that all participants and guests must have EDC tickets, purchased separately.
Camping is mostly sold out at EDC this year for tents and RV’s and sleeping in your car in the festival parking lot is not permitted for anyone. So I put together a list of camping sites for tents/RVs and places to stay close to the festival.
In the meantime, you can try and get on their waitlist for the ShiftPod2 tents that come equipped with air-conditioning, pillow, beds and linens.
Otherwise, there's plenty of camping close to the festival. Check these out.
Red Rock Canyon Campground I've never stayed here, but I hear it's great!

Make sure to use the buddy system and take care of yourself. And if you happen to find yourself alone and in need of someone to talk to, find “Ground Control,” Insomniac’s Guardian Angels, they are the lovely people in purple shirts and they are there as a friend if you need one. Remember that it is okay to ask for help. People want to help each other. That’s what we are all here for. No one should ever feel that they have to go through anything alone.
And I’ve heard that there are SpeakEasies. Apparently they are in downtown EDC and one inside the Circuit VIP stage. Word has it there is a random door with a sign on it that says “Computer repair shop.” And supposedly there are also hidden stages to discover, although that could be a rumor. And if any of you find any of these lil secrets, tag us in a pic! I’m so curious and excited to find out if it’s true!
